Active Anti-Jam GPS Antenna

A multi-channel GNSS RF Front End was developed which can pass a GPS spectrum containing extremely high levels of interference (J/S of 80 to 90 dB) to external digital signal processing circuits, where interference cancellation occurs. The restored spectrum with suppressed interference is then fed to an external GPS receiver.

Technical challenges include ensuring all channels can operate without linear or nonlinear distortions over an extremely wide dynamic range to preserve the extremely weak GPS signal in the presence of very high level interference. It is necessary to match the gain, phase and group delay characteristics over all channels, and coherently block convert the frequencies of all channels to the interference suppressing digital signal processing engine.
